In 2008, co-founder Danny Quinlan met Gunner's Mate 2nd Class (SEAL) Danny Dietz's wife, Patsy at an event where she was speaking about her husband's life in the SEAL Teams and Operation Red Wings; where on June 28, 2005, four of America's most elite warriors were conducting a reconnaissance mission in the Hindu Kush of Afghanistan and came under fire, ultimately taking three of the four men's lives. Mr. Quinlan approached Patsy with the idea of bringing together the exciting sport of team roping with the SEAL community in an effort to honor her husband. 2022 marks our 13th year putting on "The Classic". In 2015, the Navy SEAL Danny Dietz Foundation became an official 501c3. All combined since 2009, the Danny Dietz Memorial Classic and the Navy SEAL Danny Dietz Foundation has raised close to a MILLION dollars for the people that sacrifice so much for our freedoms and to keep us safe.
The packed weekend will start off on Friday with our "2 is 1" Gala with amazing guest speaker, live and silent auction, live music and PRCA Rough Stock Challenge! Saturday and Sunday we hold team roping events and close out the weekend on Monday with barrel racing. It really is a great way for each of us to get out this Memorial Day Weekend to honor and remember our Fallen SEALs. Proceeds from the weekend's events benefit The Navy SEAL Danny Dietz Foundation™.
Here at the Navy SEAL Danny Dietz Foundation (NSDDF), we are a nonprofit focused on continuing Danny’s legacy and Never Quit attitude by being committed to offering support during times of need to those that protect us at all cost. We offer grants to assist with needs that are not covered under conventional benefit programs. We offer grants to special operators in all branches of the military and first responders injured in the line of duty, as well as surviving family members.
